- Self-care
Our pharmacist and our trained assistants are available for advice on all medicines and minor ailments, in private if required. We stock a range of medicines to help treat and soothe minor ailments and our trained staff can help you to manage your conditions. For patients managing long term conditions we can help with everything from daily living aids to supporting you with your medication. We can direct you to other sources of advice and assistance if we cannot help you ourselves.
- Medicines Use Reviews
You can make an appointment with our pharmacist to discuss how you are getting on with your regular medicines. It will allow you to learn more about your medicines and ask any questions you may have, and if you are having difficulties taking your medicines our pharmacist may be able to assist. Ask for more details on this service.
- New Medicine Service
We offer a service to any patients prescribed a new medicine by their doctor which means we will contact you after you have started to take any new medicine to ensure both the medicine is suiting you and that you are managing the medicine well. This service compliments the reviews your doctor will provide and is fully funded by the NHS. Currently the service is commissioned for patients starting new medicines for certain conditions: Hypertension (high blood pressure), Diabetes, Asthma/COPD (chronic obstructive airways disease) or Anti-Coagulation (medicines to thin your blood). If you have been started on one of these medicines our pharmacist will talk to you about enrolling on the service. If you have started on any other medicines you can of course speak to our pharmacists if you have any concerns or questions about any aspect of your medication.
- Patient Medication Records
Our computer allows us to keep records of all your prescriptions dispensed by us. This helps us check for possible problems, such as reactions between medicines and will help us deal with any queries you may have. We comply with the Data Protection Act and the NHS code of practice on confidentiality as well as being fully compliant with Information Governance Guidance. You can find more information about the data we hold about you in our leaflet "Safegaurding your information"Patient Information Leaflet _5_ (1).docx
